French e-invoicing: getting compliant
A regulatory deadline, and a chance to automate the rest
We scope your move to electronic invoicing: reviewing what you have, selecting a certified platform, connecting your systems and automating how received invoices are processed.
The deadline is coming and the subject stays vague
The French reform requires every company to receive electronic invoices, then to issue them, on a staggered timetable. Most smaller companies discover the subject through their accountant and hesitate between waiting and buying a solution.
- —You are not sure which deadline actually applies to a company of your size.
- —Your invoicing software claims compatibility, without you knowing what that really covers.
- —Supplier invoices arrive by email today and are re-keyed by hand: an electronic format changes nothing while that handling stays manual.
- —You are wary of stacking on yet another platform with no link to your existing systems.
How we work
Diagnosis
Reviewing your incoming and outgoing invoice flows, the formats in use, the systems in place and the deadline that applies to you.
Platform choice
Comparing certified platforms against your volumes, your existing systems and how your finance team is organised.
Connection
Linking your invoicing system, the platform and your accounting, so invoices move without re-keying.
Automation
Automated handling of received invoices: matching against orders, approval routing, feeding the accounting system.
What we bring
Compliance is the starting point; the real gain comes from what you automate around it, upstream and downstream of the invoice.
- e-Factu
- Our invoicing product, built for smaller companies that want a simple tool rather than an ERP module.
- Certified platforms
- Comparative analysis and connection, based on your volumes and existing systems.
- Received-invoice automation
- Data extraction, matching against orders and approval routing, through n8n or Power Automate.
- Accounting integration
- Automatically feeding your accounting system, or your accountant's.
What you get
- A written diagnosis of where you stand against the reform, including the deadline that applies to you.
- A platform recommendation argued on your volumes and systems, not on a commercial partnership.
- The actual connection of your systems, tested on real invoices before switching over.
- Automated handling of received invoices, which is where the time is actually saved.
Frequently asked questions
Which deadline applies to us?+
The obligation to receive electronic invoices applies to all VAT-registered companies on the same date, while the obligation to issue them is staggered by company size, with the smallest given extra time. Since the timetable has already been revised since the reform was first announced, we check the dates in force at the time of the diagnosis rather than stating them here.
Will our current software be enough?+
Possibly, and that is the first thing we check. Many vendors advertise compatibility that covers issuing but not the handling of received invoices, or that assumes a paid add-on. The diagnosis settles this before you commit to changing systems.
Will e-invoicing save us time?+
Not on its own. An electronic invoice re-keyed by hand costs the same time as a PDF re-keyed by hand. The gain comes from automating the handling around it: data extraction, matching against orders, approval routing. That is why we treat both subjects together.
Do we have to use e-Factu to work with you?+
No. e-Factu is our own invoicing product and we propose it when it fits, but most engagements consist of connecting the systems you already have. The diagnosis is carried out independently of that choice.
Can you work with our accountant?+
Yes, and it is advisable. They know your accounting flows and will receive part of the data. We involve them in the diagnosis to avoid building a circuit they will have to undo.
Where do you stand on e-invoicing?
A short diagnosis tells you what you actually still need to be compliant, and what you can automate along the way.
